The data import consists in bringing all your documentation of other systems to OZmap and it is possible to import the following elements: poles, boxes, cables, clients, prospects, vertical buildings, horizontal condominiums, POPs and technical reserve. The coordinates (latitude, longitude) used in OZmap are in the pattern WGS84 (the same used by Google).
The imports can be requested to the OZmap's team through a service request, or then be done manually through the interface. This article will help you in case you choose for the second option.
To import, it is necessary that your data is located in a CSV file, but there are also ways of converting and importing KMZ or CAD files, for example. The CSV files must have its own fields involved by quotation marks and separated by commas. The first step to start the import is the conversion of files to this format.
Import of KMZ files
The KMZ is the main format used inside Google Earth, but can be found also in other softwares.
Import of AutoCAD files
When you export files from AutoCAD, the format delivered will be DWG or DXF, this end up making necessary to make the conversion of this file to KML, and then to a CSV.
Import of OZsurvey files
OZsurvey is an independent app from OZmap, ideal for assist in the registration of elements. To make more easy the import of data, the documented information will have the CSV format, making necessary only to handle the spreadsheet before import.
Handling Files
Now that your files are in the CSV format, the next step is to make the edition to add all the necessary information.
To open the files, we recommend the utilization of LibreOffice, but is also possible to use softwares like Google Sheets or Excel. In which of these systems a different way of opening the CSV will be used.
Since the importation is made according with the element, it is important that, in case your file has different categories of equipment, it has to be separated in multiple CSVs. For example, if there are POPs, boxes and clients in your CSV file, it is necessary to make the division and separate the boxes in one file, POPs in another and clients in another one.
It is also important to be careful with the mandatory fields to make the import of each equipment, every one of them have their mandatory specific elements and individual information that can be imported. In the moment of saving the changes, you must guarantee that your document has the following features:
Characters setting: Unicode (UTF-8)
Field delimiter: "," (comma)
Line delimiter: " (quotation marks)
To appear all the text ballots.
After setting, you can save your file and it will be ready.
